This blog has been compiled as a directory of music quotes - specifically focussing on classical music, but there are some jazz and contemporary music quotes as well. It has been compiled by Ben Clapton, through various web searches. (Ben claims no copyright of these quotes, but ensure that if you use them you are not breeching copyright).
Basically, the idea came of putting together a directory of quotes that could then be searched to find quotes relating to various themes or composers, to be used in such things as Program notes, or Performance Reviews. Blogging software came to mind as it allowed me to categorise each quote as I entered it (so I could later look up all the quotes about Beethoven - whether they be about Beethoven’s music, or quotes by Beethoven - I can then see all of them in one page) and I can search through the in-built software.
